A sustainable rural society, where no poverty exists and people act responsibly toward the environment

Introduction

The handbook “Talking with Children and Children Protection” was developed by the Center for Rural Development in Central Vietnam (CRD), Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry within the framework of the project “Strengthening the capacity of society civil organizations on child rights governance” funded by Save the Children International in Vietnam. The handbook was developed based on short stories, paintings and posters of children participating in the communication products design competition on Child Protection organized by the CRD in 2019.

We do hope that the messages in each story will encourage parents, adults and stakeholders to be more fully aware of the issues of preventing physical punishment of children and child abuse. In addition, it further enhances the self-equipped knowledge and skills necessary to be able to listen and educate actively, and to accompany, guide and protect children from the risks of violence and abuse.

The documentation team would like to thank all the individuals and collectives who have actively participated in the communication products design competition on Child Protection so that we can develop this handbook from.

This is the first time to document the “Talking with Children and Children Protection” handbook so it might still have some limitations. We are looking forward to receiving comments and suggestive ideas from readers to update for the better print version.
